Half Life Alyx but I clean everything up is a YouTube video I made in high school for my final Natural Science assignment. For the last assignment in that class student had to do something to get other people outside our school to help the world. For me, I made a video where I played the VR game Half Life Alyx and cleaned up all the garbage I can find and dispose of it properly. By showing people how to dispose of different types of garbage, I hoped to inspire them to do it in real life too.
I recorded the gameplay, edited the video and did the voiceover. This was when I learned the importance of planning when making a big project. When I finished recording and started editing the video, I would watch 5 minutes of the recording, and then get an idea for an edit or voice over. I would then just do it and add it to the video and never touched that part of the video again. This led to a lot of burn out when editing the video.
For this project I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the video and OBS to record the game and my voice overs.
